Cleanliness is part of our everyday lives. Here at Parackattu farm we always strive to keep our homestead and surroundings clean and green. We hope to inspire others through our clean and green ways.
Weeds are regularly handpicked or removed using a grass cutter. All the bio degradable wastes generated in our farm is put to good use through the process of composting. The following methods are used for composting wastes.
- Country composting
- Vermi composting
- EM composting
- Biogas
Vermi wash, Biogas slurry and the composts are good manures and are utilized in our farm itself. This forms a sustainable cycle of removing the wastes and re-utilizing them as manure for our plants.
We constantly engage with the community and conduct cleaning activities around public work spaces and public roads. We also conduct periodic classes on Tree Planting, Cleanliness, Waste Segregation, Composting and Recycling for Students, Homemakers and Farmers to emphasize the need for waste management and the importance of increasing the urban green cover. To help farmers in their Vermi and EM composting, we produce and supply earth worms and activated EM solution, as per their requirement. We also occasionally distribute seedlings and plants to students and neighbors in an effort to inspire them to keep our planet green.

പരിസര ശുചിത്വം
ശുചിത്വ ശീലങ്ങൾ ആരോഗ്യപൂർണമായ ഒരു ജീവിതത്തിന് അത്യന്താപേക്ഷിതമാണ്.. അവരവരുടെ വീടും പറമ്പും ഹരിതാഭമായും വൃത്തിയായും വെക്കേണ്ടത് ഓരോ വ്യക്തിയുടെയും കടമയാണ്. മറ്റുള്ളവരിൽ ഒരു ശുചിത്വബോധം വളർത്താൻ ഉതകും വിധം ഞങ്ങൾ പാറയ്‌ക്കാട്ട്ഫാം വൃത്തിയായി സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.
വിളകൾക്കിടയിലെ കളകൾ കൈകൊണ്ടോ പുല്ലുവെട്ടികൊണ്ടോ പതിവായി നീക്കം ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഫാമിൽ ധാരാളമായുണ്ടാകുന്ന ജീർണമാലിന്യങ്ങൾ നീക്കം ചെയ്യാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ പലതരത്തിലുള്ള കമ്പോസ്റ്റിംഗ് രീതികൾ പിന്തുടരുന്നു. നാടൻ കമ്പോസ്റ്റിംഗ്, മണ്ണിര കമ്പോസ്റ്റിംഗ്, EM കമ്പോസ്റ്റിംഗ്, ബയോഗ്യാസ് തുടങ്ങിയ രീതികളാണ് ഞങ്ങളിതിനായി അവലംബിക്കുന്നത്. ഇവിടെ ഉത്‌പാദിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കംപോസ്റ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഫാമിൽത്തന്നെ വളമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.
വീടും, പരിസരവും, ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നടപ്പാതകളും ഞങ്ങളെപ്പോഴും വൃത്തിയായി വെക്കുന്നു. സമൂഹ സഹകരണത്തോടെ ശുചീകരണപ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്കു നേതുത്വം നൽകികൊണ്ട് പൊതുസ്ഥലങ്ങളും വഴികളും വൃത്തിയാക്കാറുണ്ട്.
സ്‌കൂൾ കുട്ടികൾ,വീട്ടമ്മമാർ, കൃഷിക്കാർ മുതലായവർക്ക് കൃഷിയിട ശുചിത്വത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും, വൃത്തിയും, ഹരിതാഭവുമായ ഒരു പരിസ്‌ഥിയുടെ പ്രാധാന്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുമുള്ള അറിവുകൾ പങ്കു വെക്കാറുണ്ട്. നാട്ടുകാർക്ക് ഇടക്കിടെ വൃക്ഷത്തൈകളും വിത്തുകളും നൽകി വരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ മണ്ണിര, ഉത്തേജിപ്പിച്ച EM-ലായിനി എന്നിവയും കർഷകർക്ക് ആവശ്യാനുസരണം വിതരണം ചെയ്യാറുണ്ട്.
